Economic thinking in society and in the workplace is shifting. Yet leaders and workers of the future are taught mainly the classical theories in school and in their studies. Students are mostly trained in the dominant neoclassical thinking and doing, while the world of tomorrow demands different solutions. Fortunately, there is increasing attention to theories in which the well-being of people and the health of our planet are central.
Much is already happening in various educational institutions to make the curriculum of economics education - within the national frameworks - more inclusive, sustainable and future-proof. During Week of Economic Education, from 14 to 18 November 2022, these initiatives will be given a stage. The entire week activities will take place in which good examples will be shown, new economische principles are discussed and education professionals can meet. Education professionals and institutions that have taken steps in future-proofing their economics education are featured. Their stories offer inspiration and tools for others to apply in their own practice.
The Week of Economic Education offers networking opportunities to meet predecessors and to go deeper: what do you run into, how can you reinforce each other? For beginners and those who are interested, the Week of Economic Education offers inspiration and tools to contribute from your own role.
